Are You Detailing Enough?

People who take pride in their vehicles know that detailing is a vital component of holistic vehicle maintenance. There is still the lingering question of, “how often do I need to get my car detailed?” The answer to this question depends on many variables, which we go into below.

First up, what do you get when you get your car detailed?

Broadly, detailing is simply the process of painstakingly cleaning the inside and/or outside of a vehicle. The goal of detailing is to improve the look of the vehicle and treat the surfaces so they stay healthy.

At CJ’s Autobling, we give you the power to select which detailing procedures you want on your car. It can be as simple as a Quick Wash, or you can go for the full-on Complete Detail. The Quick Wash is simply a professionally done, by-hand car wash. The Complete Detail includes an exterior wash, and also vacuum and steam cleaning, toothbrush cleaning in and out, bug and tar removal, clay bar, and power polish with premium wax.

Staying on top of vehicle maintenance with a detail will help you avoid more serious issues before they creep up out of nowhere. Catching and fixing a tiny spot of rust is no big deal, but dealing with a rotted-out body panel is a huge (and expensive) headache.

Why is automotive detailing so important?

The first reason we all love detailing is that it makes our cars look great. Who doesn’t want their vehicle restored to a factory-fresh look? Professional detailers can remove stains and odours that are impossible to do at home.

When it comes time to sell your car, you will be happy if you had invested in regular details. A car that looks like new will command a much higher price on the resale market than something that looks, and smells, used. While we can do a pretty good last-minute job, the best practice is to get regular details.

How often is often enough?

When detailing is done right, it doesn’t need to be done crazy often. Generally speaking, every 4 to 6 months (2-3 times a year) is often enough for a full detail. The frequency obviously changes depending on how much work you do yourself in between details, as well as the conditions in which you drive.

If you prefer to not bring your car in that often, but still want amazing results, consider getting a ceramic coating. Ceramic coatings last for years and dramatically reduce the damage that occurs from everyday use, and makes washing a breeze. With a ceramic coating, your car will look better than ever, and maintenance will be easier than ever.
