How Do Feynlab Coatings Heal Themselves?

How Do Feynlab Coatings Heal Themselves?

It used to be that every new ding or scratch on your car meant a trip to the paint shop for a repair or respray. Thankfully, novel technology has hit the market that not only prevents scratches but is actually self-healing. When you purchase a new car or used vehicle in good condition, you can apply a self-healing ceramic coating that will maintain the quality finish of your ride’s exterior.

At CJ’s Autobling, we offer premium paint protection for your car using Feynlab self-healing ceramic coatings. When you’re ready to give your car the best paint protection available in Victoria, we are ready for you!

Feynlab is a self-healing ceramic coating that lasts for years and protects against chemicals, bird droppings, scratches, dings, and oxidation.

Coating Hardness & Scratches

In the ceramic coating world, you will hear the word “hardness” thrown around a lot, and presented as synonymous with quality. Brands tout the merits of their coatings by claiming a “9H” hardness (the highest level on the pencil hardness scale). However, the truth is that the hardness of the coating is actually correlated with less scratch resistance.

Hard coatings have very dense structures, so when the coating is scratched the pressure of the abrasive isn’t spread out, resulting in a permanent mark. Contrarily, an elastic coating allows the pressure to be spread out and absorbed over a larger surface area.

Self-healing ceramic coatings take advantage of these properties in various ways. Some coatings are designed to self-heal fine scratches with the application of heat from a heat gun or even hot water. Other coatings self-heal through a process called “auto-mechanical self-healing”. As technology evolves, we will surely see new varieties of self-healing coatings.

Here’s How Feynlab’s Self-Healing Coatings Work

Feynlab is a self-healing ceramic coating that lasts for years and protects against chemicals, bird droppings, scratches, dings, and oxidation. If your car receives a minor scratch or ding, the coating will self-heal once it is heated to 60C (an easily attainable temperature with a blow dryer).

Waxing your car at home can provide shine and a bit of protection, but in order for the wax to be effective, it needs to be meticulously reapplied every month or so. Feynlab ceramic coatings take the stress, monotony, and guesswork out of auto maintenance.
